It is always an honor to be chosen and trusted by a client to fully Design, Plan, and Imagine their Wedding Day with them, but it comes with a special honor when those clients are dear industry friends. Both Madeline and Brian work in the Wedding / Film + Video industry and we met in 2020 during a tiny little covid wedding. Well Mads and I met in 2020 that is, she had not yet met Brian, but that year our friendship bloomed, our work relationship started, and Brian came into her life.

Fast forwarding to 2022 and I had the insane honor of getting to help Madeline + Brian Design + Plan their Big Day, thinking through each intentional step and detail. Their wedding was my first of the 2023 calendar on January 21 in Astoria, Oregon and we started it with a BANG! Madeline + Brian wanted their day to be beautiful, cozy, warm and moody. Floral was a must as well as a dining experience that felt intimate amidst their 80 guests. The Ceremony was also a focal point as they took the time to be coached by their hired Officiant who they did Vow writing exercises with and added special touches that embodied their relationship like stamping a National Parks Passport and taking a Polaroid photo of each other mid-Ceremony.

In the Wedding industry, especially in the PNW, there seems to be an understanding that there is a set “Wedding Season” and that season generally starts in April and goes through September. Well I’m here to tell you that a Winter Wedding is just a beautiful as a Summer Wedding and that there is no seasonality on Weddings as far as I am concerned! The Oregon Coast was BLUSTERY on January 21st and Madeline’s dress was mud-soaked at the hem, but they wouldn’t have had it any other way and wow, look how cozy, sweet, and BEAUTIFUL this wedding turned out.
